Single Session Therapy is a client-centered approach where the client and therapist collaborate on a specific issue, with the understanding that there may only be one session.
Single Session Therapy involves:
- An intentional engagement between a client and a therapist
- Collaborative work on a specific issue within one session
- Aiming to maximize the efficacy of the session
- Knowing that additional support is available if needed
It’s important to understand that participating in Single Session Therapy does not preclude the possibility of future sessions. More help is available if you require it.
There are three potential paths following Single Session Therapy:
- You are satisfied with the Single Session Therapy and do not feel the need for more sessions.
- You return for another Single Session Therapy.
- You transition to ongoing therapy.
